Chief Ladiga Trail Half Marathon - Piedmont to Jacksonville, Alabama

Date: Saturday, December 6, 2008

This is a 5th annual race.
The race is from Piedmont to Jacksonville in even numbered years.
The race is from Jacksonville to Piedmont in odd numbered years.
You may park and register at the Jacksonville Community Center
and ride a shuttle bus to Piedmont before the race.
The last bus before the race will depart Jacksonville at 7:30AM.
Alternatively, you may park and register at the Piedmont Welcome Center
and ride a shuttle bus back to Piedmont after the race.

COURSE:
The race is entirely on the Chief Ladiga Trail whih is Alabama's first extended
rails-to-trails project. Along the way enjoy beautiful wetlands, streams, forests,
farmland and a horizon filled with mountains. The entire course is paved and flat.

Labor Day Run (5K and 1 Mile)

River Region Runners (R3), formerly know as the Montgomery Track and Running Club (MTRC), will be holding it's annual Labor Day Run in Downtown Montgomery on Monday, September 1, 2008, at the Union Station train shed.

This will be the Inaugural River Region Runners R3 Event

Race Information:
The races begin and at the Union Train Station in downtown Montgomery. The course heads up long the river overlook, then into Cottage Hills or a historic run through rolling hills. You’ll enjoy the down hill stretch on Montgomery street with a turn on to Commerce Street and back to the Train Station. This is a challenging course with beautiful scenery.

No bicycles, No pets, No skates or baby buggies allowed on course during race.

If the ground hog sees his shadow, there will be another six weeks of cool running. No shadow,and it's back to sweat-filled outings!
